Business Meeting ASIA 2016 in Hanoi, Vietnam

From August 15 th~ 19 th, Business Meeting ASIA 2016 in Hanoi was held in Vietnam with the global companies in the field of ICT, Robot, Automation, Machinery, Health Care and Medical Equipment. This Business Meeting was jointly organized by Asian Science Park Association (ASPA), Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park (HHTP), Kyungpook National University LINC Center (KNU LINC Center), University of Ulsan LINC Center (UOU LINC Center), Daegu Technopark (DTP), Daegu Technopark Mobile Technology Convergence Center (MTCC) and Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (KICOX) Daegu Branch. The total number of 144 companies from Vietnam, Korea and Taiwan (R.O.C) attended this event to find the potential business partners and new market in Vietnam.

Business Matching

In the morning of August 16 th, the opening speeches were made by Mr. Pham Dai Duong, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology and head of the HHTP Management Board and Dr. Sunkook Kwon, Secretary-General of ASPA. It was followed by the MoU signing ceremony between Science and Technology Department (STD) of Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park Management Board, Mobile Technology Convergence Center (MTCC) and Daily Healthcare Center (DHC) on the development of Internet of Things (IoT) in health care and cooperation in information and trade exchange, investment promotion and technology transfer. , each company had 1:1 meetings with the related companies to share their technologies and discuss potential business opportunities. The participants were eager to seek scope for new businesses and new market in Vietnam.

Technical Tours

On August 17 th~18 th, the participants paid a visit to several companies and institutes as technical tours.

In the morning of 17 th, the participants visited Aluko group Hyundai Aluminum Vina Factory. It mainly manufactures windows, doors and curtain wall and is a leading company in the field of industrial material. All the staff members at the company welcomed the visitors and guided the visitors to the factory.

After then, the participants headed to Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park. There were presentations for introducing Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, Hoa Lac IoT lab and Technology Transfer Office. It was followed by an actual visit to Hoa Lac IoT lab. The lab was newly opened with the aim of connecting organizations providing platforms, devices and solutions to build IoT applications in Vietnam. Lastly, the participants got to visit VIKOMED in the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park. VIKOMED is a joint venture between Korea and Vietnam, and manufactures high-quality medical equipments. It was worth to visit since there were some participants in the related field of industry.

On 18 th, the participants headed to National Exhibition Construction Center of Hanoi. The staff at NECC gave a briefing on Hanoi city and explained how the city has been developed. There was a miniature of the city so that the visitors could actually see how the city looks like.
