Business Meeting ASIA 2013 in Tokyo


The ASPA Secretariat visited Japan from Jan 31 to Feb 2 with eight SMEs from Daegu and it was supported by Daegu Metropolitan City. This visit aimed to understand the high technology and the trend of industry in nano-tech and environment field by attending ‘Nano Tech 2013’ and ‘Kawasaki International Eco Fair 2013’. Not only this, it provided the consultation opportunities with the Japanese and other international conglomerates and there were the fruitful exchanges between the Korean and Japanese SMEs through the business matching event hosted by Tama University and ASPA in Tama city.

1.Nano Tech 2013 (Jan 31)
Nano Tech 2013 held from Jan 30 to Feb 1 is the world’s biggest exhibition on nano technology which is vital in the cutting-edge manufacturing. Through the exhibition, the participants could understand the new hi-technology and the trend of industry in nano industry and also the related policies and the current state of other competing countries’ nano technology. The theme of the exhibition is “Life & Green Nanotechnology” 10-9 Innovation and it is the 12th exhibition since the first one in 2002.





2.Business Matching Event with the Companies in Tama (Feb 1)

About 70 people from 12 SMEs, local organizations and Tama University in Tama City attended the meeting. In contrast to the past business meetings, Tama university students participated in the meeting and could experience the actual exchanges of enterprises in person.Starting with the opening speeches of Mr. Keiichi Hisatune, the Dean of Management Information Department, and Dr. Jong Hyun Lee, Chairperson of ASPA, there were 17 presentations of Korean and Japanese companies and 24 business consultations in total. After the consultations, there was the special discussion time with the theme of ‘New exchanges and networking of East Asia and Japan from the glocal point of view’ and the participants exchanged their ideas very actively.














3.Kawasaki International Eco-Fair 2013 (Feb 2)

With the progress of modernization, it has resulted in severe environmental problems in City of Kawasaki. For this reason, the city has put a lot of efforts for the development of environmental technology and products. As a result of it, the environmental problems have improved a lot and it holds ‘Kawasaki International Eco-Fair’ every year to spread the developed technology and products to the world based on their experiences.

After this event, there have been cotinuous exchanges between the Korean and Japanese companies and especially Hikari Innovision Co., Ltd revisited Japan and had more business consultations in details.
