To
spur proliferating data driven manufacturing, Chungbuk Technopark commemorates
the completion of the showcase smart factory in Chungbuk.

Technopark Foundation announced that the showcase smart factory has been
completed at ATS Inc. which was assisted by the national and local government
business promotion program that CBTP is operating it mainly. As an injection
molding automobile part manufacturer, ATS Inc. will enjoy the flexibility that
enables the company to suit its products easily with the constantly changing
vehicle designs and will take advantages of the benefits of real time digital
engineering environment from the completion of the factory.
In
order to riding the wave of big data and AI technologies, ATS Inc. initiated long
term roadmap for gathering and analyzing data through production line and
quality control performances that aimed to bring the company to the global
leader in the high precision injection molding industry.
Chungbuk
Technopark has successively accomplished the smart factory promotion programs’
projected goals ranging from three new showcase factories including Saehan,
ATS, Genicos co. Ltd., to total of 164 smart factories including 104 new plants
and 42 upgraded facilities in Chungbuk province. Furthermore, the programs make
98 manufacturing execution systems, 32 enterprise resource planning systems, 7
product lifecycle management systems and more sophisticated production
enhancing tools possible to many of regional business entities.
Mr.
Jaebin Song, president of Chungbuk Technopark, describes the smart factory
programs that set goals to convert 155 ordinary factories into the state of the
art futuristic plants in the year of 2020, will innovate manufacturing
processes of small and medium enterprises by introducing 5G communications,
collaborative robots, and artificial intelligence technologies in our region. “We
are committed to optimize the smart factory programs by collaborating R&D
projects among academies, research institutions, and industries and training
engineers in advanced technologies for empowering local business
competitiveness in Chungbuk” Mr. Song said.
